Cajon High School (Calif.) quarterback Marcus Washington Jr. gave it all this past week, accounting for nearly 380 total yards and three touchdowns in a crushing 42-34 loss to Etiwanda.
Washington went 18-of-30 for 245 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. The talented dual-threat sophomore rushed for 131 yards and a score on 19 carries.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Washington converted multiple fourth downs and is already well on pace to match last year’s 31 total touchdowns.
August has been incredibly busy for Washington, who recently received scholarship offers from Texas A&M and Michigan. He has 11 total offers as of Aug. 23.
Washington, the reigning Citrus Belt League Offensive MVP, and the Cowboys look to bounce back against Independence (0-0) on Friday night.
Cajon is chasing its first state championship since 2017, when future Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels led the way at quarterback.
