Bishop Moore Catholic (Fla.) standout edge rusher Noah Prince spent Friday night living in the opposing backfield, recording a sack and three tackles for loss in a thrilling overtime loss to Hawthorne.
Prince, who committed to Eastern Michigan earlier this summer, dominated throughout the 28-25 defeat. The sack came on a critical third-down stop and kept the Hornets’ (0-1) comeback chances alive.
Bishop Moore tied the game at 22 early in the fourth quarter. Prince and the Hornets’ defense kept Hawthorne out of the end zone for the rest of the way.
Prince picked up exactly where he left off as a junior, when he recorded 14 sacks and 17 total tackles for a loss.
“On the tape, you don’t actually see how someone truly is,” Prince recently told Legacy Library. “On the field, I’m a leader, and I’m very loud and always causing chaos. When I make a play, I’m gonna make sure everyone knows about it.”
Prince and the Hornets look to even their record at 1-1 with a victory over Palos Verdes High School (Calif.) next week. The Sea Kings, who play on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Los Angeles County, will host Thursday’s showdown.
