UAB redshirt junior running back Ja’Vin Simpkins had a limited workload Saturday as the Blazers rallied for a 26-20 win over ULM.
Simpkins carried twice for 13 yards, averaging 6.5 yards per carry. He also recorded one punt return for minus-7 yards and was charged with a fumble.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Simpkins is in his first season at UAB after transferring from Coastal Carolina, where he rushed for a team-high 591 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games last season.
UAB improved to 1-1 with the victory and will travel to face Louisiana (1-1) on Sept. 19.
