Humble Atascocita (Texas) athlete Isaiah Rasheed intends to stay in the Lone Star State, and a former Heisman Trophy winner certainly approves.
Rasheed, a rising senior, verbally committed to North Texas on Monday. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Rasheed visited the Mean Green this past weekend.
“YOU BETTER LOOK NORTH!!!” Rasheed wrote on Twitter/X.
A versatile athlete who has also played quarterback and defensive back, Rasheed’s commitment graphic listed him at receiver.
According to his 247 Sports page, Rasheed held offers from seven schools, including Arizona, Texas Tech, and Tulane.
Former Washington Redskins star and Baylor Bears legend Robert Griffin III publicly congratulated Rasheed on his commitment.
Rasheed is also an accomplished runner who won a gold medal in the triple jump at the 6A Regional Track Meet last month.
Rasheed is the 14th Class of 2027 high school prospect to commit to North Texas so far, and the first receiver.
North Texas has had four players — Rasheed, tight end Gavin Mandrell (Denison, Texas), and defensive linemen Ayden Koehn (Cheney, Kansas) and Ola-Oluwa Orebe (Fort Worth, Texas) — pledge to the Mean Green since Sunday.
The 2026 Early Signing Period is expected to begin Wednesday, Dec. 2, and run through Friday, Dec. 4. Players who sign their letter of intent during that period can then enroll early.
