In the weeks before his senior season, Bishop Moore High School (Fla.) kicker Nico Salas said he wanted to be reliable.
He’s more than met the mark, as South Lake learned firsthand on Friday night. Salas went 6-for-6 on extra points and recorded five touchbacks — four of which traveled more than 70 yards — in Bishop Moore’s 42-7 victory.
The Hornets, who have won three straight following a 0-2 start, also recovered an onside kick from Salas. A respected senior leader, he was also selected as a captain before kickoff.

Salas has converted 90% of his extra-point attempts this season, and he’s continued to be a proven weapon on kickoffs. The lack of opposing returns has helped the Hornets’ defense, which has limited opponents to 27 points over the last three weeks.
Bishop Moore looks to extend its winning streak to four when it hosts Deltona (3-1) next Friday night.
