Any Appalachian State fans who are already following Micah McClintock’s journey aren’t coming away disappointed.
The 6-foot-3, 183-pound McClintock remains a key component of Woodruff (S.C.) High School’s passing game. He averages 73.5 yards per game, trailing only teammate Curtis Bell’s 108.2, through the season’s first five weeks.
McClintock had a 31-yard catch in last Friday’s loss to an impressive Chapman squad, which won its fifth straight game. MaxPreps currently lists the Panthers as the No. 48 team in South Carolina.

McClintock turned heads earlier this month when he committed to App State. The 2026 Early Signing Period is expected to begin Wednesday, Dec. 2, and run through Friday, Dec. 4. Players who sign their letter of intent during that period can then enroll early.
For now, McClintock and the 3-2 Wolverines are off this week before hosting Landrum (3-1) on Oct. 2. His future Mountaineer teammates opened the year with three straight wins and play at NC State (1-2) on Saturday night.
