Another day, another offer for Totino-Grace (Minn.) guard Malachi Hill ahead of his senior year.
In fact, it was two offers. Hill announced on Thursday that he’d received a scholarship offer from Jacksonville State University, less than a day after he’d also heard from Purdue University Fort Wayne.
“It’s emotionally motivating because it’s showing how all the work, sacrifice, and hours I’ve put in are paying off,” Hill told Legacy Library on Thursday.

It’s been a busy summer for Hill, who has announced scholarship offers from the following schools in recent weeks:
- Wyoming
- UT Chattanooga
- Indiana State
- Illinois State
- Tennessee Tech
- Ohio University
- University of Montana
Jacksonville State went 15-17 last year, though the Gamecocks won double-digit Conference USA games for the second straight season. They’ve reached the NCAA Tournament twice in Ray Harper’s 10 seasons.
Purdue-Fort Wayne plays in the Horizon League and went 17-15 last season. The Mastodons have rattled off five consecutive winning records, reaching the College Basketball Invitational [CBI] and College Insider.com Postseason Tournament [CIT] during that stretch.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Hill is currently ranked Minnesota’s No. 3 prospect in 247 Sports’ composite ratings. He is also considered the nation’s No. 33 point guard prospect in the Class of 2027.
“It’s mentally encouraging seeing how all these different coaches believe in me and support me and want me to be on their team, being a coach on the floor in an impact freshman year,” Hill said.
