Arkansas-Pine Bluff senior running back Jaylen Jennings continued his final college season Thursday night against No. 25 Missouri.
Jennings carried six times for 17 yards in the 54-14 loss, which dropped the Golden Lions to 1-1 on the young season. A week earlier, he rushed 15 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s 35-15 season-opening win over Morehouse.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Jennings is coming off a breakout junior season in which he rushed for 936 yards and 11 touchdowns, finishing second in the SWAC in rushing yards and leading the conference in rushing touchdowns.
Jennings began his college career at Bowling Green before transferring to East Mississippi Community College. He rushed for 1,552 yards and 17 touchdowns in two seasons at EMCC and earned first-team All-MACCC North Division honors in 2024 and subsequently transferred to Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
“I’m a relentless athlete,” Jennings told Legacy Library earlier this summer. “I’m the one you can count on in any situation. I have confidence in my ability to beat out my competition any day, and if I fail, I will keep trying until I win.”
The Golden Lions head to Memphis on Sept. 12 to face Alcorn State (1-0) in the 37th Annual Southern Heritage Classic.
