At some point, you have to imagine that opposing defenses will learn to cover Westminster Academy (Fla.) star receiver Drew Barbar.
Then again, the electric junior might be too dominant to contain. Barbar continued what has been a phenomenal 2026 season with six catches, 189 yards, and two touchdowns in last week’s 48-0 blowout win over Master’s Academy.
Barbar also remains a reliable kicker and drilled all six extra-point attempts. Westminster has outscored opponents 189-58 during its four-game winning streak.

If all of this sounds familiar, it’s because Barbar already has 42 catches for 940 yards and eight touchdowns. At his current pace, he’ll exceed last year’s 1,032 yards when he and the Lions battle North Broward Prep on Friday night.
Barbar leads the nation in receiving yards, with Tulare Western (Calif.) standout Amarion Taylor not far behind at 908. The 6-foot-2, 194-pound Taylor holds offers from numerous Power 4 programs, including California, UCLA, and Utah. Talk about good company!
Taylor has the advantage in touchdowns, having caught 12 entering the weekend. However, both trail North Baltimore (Ohio) standout athlete Zander South in receptions (58) and touchdowns (13).
