Grinding in the Kentucky heat and the summer football circuit has finally paid off for North Oldham High School kicker Chris Waldron.

Not only does Waldron feel confident going into his senior season, but NAIA Culver-Stockton College (Mo.) has already shown its interest. Earlier this month, Waldron announced that the Wildcats gave him his first scholarship offer.

“It struck personal [for me] because it was just the start,” Waldron told Legacy Library. “It felt like things are going to come together.”

Waldron made both field-goal attempts and an extra point during a recent scrimmage against North Hardin High School. He averaged roughly 58 yards on his four kickoffs, one of which resulted in a touchback.

However, arguably his most significant summer highlight came during a specialist camp at the University of Louisville. Waldron drilled a 54-yard kick to win the camp’s field goal competition.

“I really like to put myself in situations where I have a chance to succeed, even if it means taking a risk,” Waldron said.

The 2026 Early Signing Period is expected to begin Wednesday, Dec. 2, and run through Friday, Dec. 4. Players who sign their letter of intent during that period can then enroll early.

North Oldham opens its 2026 season against Lafayette on Aug. 21. The Mustangs are chasing their first state championship in program history and reached the Class 4A state quarterfinals last year.

With less than 10 days until kickoff, Waldron is riding high and staying focused on bringing a title to Goshen.

“To see that offer come through, it’s the beginning of what is my next step,” Waldron said.
