With less than two months until his senior season tips off, Golda Meir School (Wis.) senior forward Chris Retic’s phone just keeps buzzing.
Retic has received offers from schools nationwide in recent months, and that’s not us being hyperbolic. Colleges in Florida, Ohio, and Minnesota have all shown their interest in the 6-foot-7 versatile forward, and he’s collected nearly 20 offers through Oct. 20.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling,” Retic told Legacy Library. “All the early mornings, extra reps, and work in the gym finally paying off. When a school calls and says they want you to be part of their future, it makes you want to work even harder.”

Retic proved unstoppable throughout his junior season, averaging 21.2 points and 11.8 rebounds for the WIAA Division 2 Sectional runner-up Owls. He also emerged as a defensive powerhouse, terrorizing opponents with 5.2 blocks and two steals per game.
“I’m a relentless worker who is completely dedicated to winning,” Retic said. “I’m a team-first player who will do whatever it takes on both ends of the court to help my team succeed.”
Retic said he is keeping his recruitment open, and he still has plenty of time to decide on his next stop. The 2026 Early Signing Period for non-Division I football athletes begins Nov. 11.
Golda Meir is expected to begin its 2026-27 season against Milwaukee Reagan on Dec. 10. The Owls are seeking their first championship in state history.
